Rodney

Growing up surrounded by violence and pain, Rodney started experiencing mental health challenges, including paranoia and hallucinations, at a young age.

As an adult, he knew it was time to get help—not just to improve his own well-being, but also so that he could lead by example for his community.

Today, through his own dedication and the help of Momentum, Rodney feels like himself again. His main goal is clear: To inspire his children and entire family to seek help when they need it without the weight of stigma holding them back.

Stephanie

After years of struggling with generational cycles of addiction, Stephanie came to our Parisi House on the Hill program in 2021–and now works there full-time!

Parisi House, which merged with Momentum in 2023, offers mothers like Stephanie a unique model for residential substance use treatment: Their children stay with them the whole time, offering moms a fresh start with plenty of resources and community and keeping kids out of the foster care system.

Today, Stephanie is raising two children with her partner, continuing her education, and helping other women transform their lives at the very place where she transformed hers.

Roman

"It’s easy to say that my issues started in 2024, but the truth is that they began in my childhood," says Roman. A turbulent home life and years of resulting trauma eventually led him to seek help from La Selva Group, a division of Momentum for Health.

There, through La Selva's variety of programs including residential and supportive housing, he found both structure and community.

Today, Roman says he feels like "the best version" of himself in a long time. He is currently working toward a certificate to become a Peer Support Specialist to help empower others on their own journeys to recovery.
